In the future, proper nutrition is very important, since reducing the consumption of products containing uric acid salts (urates) will lead to a slowdown in the development of the disease. Diet for gout is a topic that deserves special attention, as it is the normalization of diet that contributes to speedy recovery and increases the time interval between relapses of the disease. Only certain products for gout can be consumed, so there are many rules regarding the menu and diet of patients that you need to know.

Menu and diet

First of all, let's look at the main points of nutrition and find out what diet a patient should take for gout. Doctors recommend that patients eliminate animal proteins from their diet, but they are not only dangerous for gout sufferers - animal fats and easily digestible carbohydrates are also dangerous.

Food for gout should be common, but the food should be consumed in small portions. Therefore, the patient should eat five to six times during the day, and a day of fasting must be arranged at least once a week.

On fasting days, you can eat fresh vegetables and fruits. In addition, they can be both raw and cooked (but without salt). It is important that you only eat one type of vegetable or fruit during the day, such as baked potatoes or raw apples.

In addition, there is a very popular option for a day of fasting - rice and apple. From the name it appears that on this day the patient should eat rice and apples, but the congee itself must be properly prepared. So, to make congee for a day of fasting, you need to boil 75 g of rice in 750 ml of milk - this is one serving of food for a day. Porridge should be eaten in three meals in a day. Apples can be eaten up to 250 g, best to boil them or make a sugar-free compote out of them.

Here are some gout recipes that are both healthy and delicious.

Vegetarian borscht. To prepare borscht you will need the following products: 160 g beets, 160 g potatoes, 60 g carrots, 140 g white cabbage, 40 g onions, 100 g fresh tomatoes, 25 g parsley, 40 g sour cream.

Cook the beets separately until half cooked and grate them on a coarse grater. Then put all the vegetables (including beets) in a container, add water and cook until everything is ready. Serve borscht on the table, season with sour cream and add chopped parsley.

Another recipe that allows the gout diet is the recipe for potato soup. Potato soup is made from the following products: water, potatoes, ½ eggs, butter, flour, sour cream (25 g), herbs.

Vegetable stew for gout

The cooking process is very simple - peel and boil potatoes, pour the water into a separate container and rub through a sieve. Next, you need to prepare the sauce, for which you will dry the flour in the oven and dilute it in 40 g of potato broth, and then boil it. Mix the potato stock, mashed potatoes and the prepared sauce, add the egg and butter. Bring everything to the boil again and serve, season with sour cream and add herbs.

Of course, the diet for gout is by no means monotonous and patients can therefore not only eat liquid dishes, but also various muesli and side dishes. Here are some examples of second courses that can be included in a patient's diet.

Vegetable stew. For cooking you will need 6 potatoes, 3 carrots, 1 onion, 1 glass of green peas, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of butter, 100 g of sour cream and a pinch of salt.

Finely chop the onion and fry in oil, then add the diced carrots to the pan and simmer. When the carrots soften, you need to add boiled green peas, boiled and diced potatoes, sour cream and salt and simmer all the ingredients for about 15 minutes. Here's how to cook buckwheat porridge: pour 50 g of buckwheat into 100 g of water, add a pinch of salt, stir and put the pan, covered with a lid, on medium heat.
